Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 July 2026

FREEZME is built on a simple discipline: collect the minimum, keep it safe, and let you take it back at any time. This policy explains what we hold and why.

Who this applies to (18+ only)

FREEZME is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We capture your date of birth at sign-up and block anyone under 18. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we remove it immediately and report where required by law.

Consent under the DPDP Act

We process personal data in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP). At sign-up we obtain your free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent for the purposes described here. You may withdraw consent at any time — withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and may mean we can no longer match you. You may nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, as the Act provides.

What we collect

  • Contact & identity: phone number, email (college or work), first name, date of birth, city, and verification badges.
  • Interview data: your answers to Mira's interview, a structured profile derived from them, and a private transcript embedding used only to find compatible members.
  • Connection type & intent (private): what you're looking for. This is never shown on any profile and is used only inside matching and the "aligned" confirmation copy.
  • Conversations: messages with your matches, used to run the connection and to keep the community safe.
  • Usage & growth: product and marketing events (for example landing views, waitlist joins, referrals) used to improve the funnel and measure outcomes.

How we use it

  • To verify you're a real, eligible adult and place you in the right city cohort.
  • To produce your one weekly introduction — filtering, similarity, the Rehearsal, and the "why you two".
  • To keep members safe (automated moderation on interview text and early messages; human review of reports).
  • To operate the waitlist and referral graph and to manage the gender ratio at the door.
  • To send scarce, event-based notifications (your Monday note, a reply nudge, a post-date check-in).

No background checks — an explicit disclaimer

FREEZME does not conduct background checks, criminal-record checks, or identity vetting of any member, and makes no representation that any member is safe, suitable, or who they claim to be. Verification confirms a real phone number and a college or work email (with additional verification for explicit lanes); it is not a guarantee of character or conduct. You are responsible for your own safety when meeting anyone. Use the in-app safety toolkit, meet in public, and tell a friend your plans.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not run ads. We share data only with the processors that run the service — our database and auth provider (Supabase), our AI providers (used to run the interview, matching and moderation), our email provider (Resend), and our analytics/error tooling — each under contract and only as needed. The raw connection-type label is never disclosed to another member; only a rendered "aligned" phrase is.

Your rights (including the right to delete)

  • Right to delete. You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time from settings, or by emailing us. Deletion is honoured promptly, subject only to narrow legal-retention exceptions.
  • Access & correction. You can access and correct your data.
  • Withdraw consent. You can withdraw consent for processing.
  • Grievance. You can raise a grievance with our Data Protection point of contact (below).

Retention & security

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymise it. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit, access is role-gated with row-level security, and privileged operations run server-side only.
